Celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rabbit at SALT at Our Kaka‘ako on Saturday, January 21, 2023, beginning at 11 a.m. The Lunar New Year festivities will kick off with a martial arts demonstration in our courtyard, followed by a traditional Chinese Lion Dance by the Asian Lion Dance Team. There will also be appearances by 2023 Miss Chinatown Hawaii, Star Dahl-Thurston, and 2023 Miss Hawaii Chinese, Agnes Santiano, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This family-friendly event is free to attend.
The Asian Lion Dance Team has been delighting spectators with their Chinese lion dances since 1994. The team’s colorful dancing lion will also make its way to the shops, restaurants and businesses at SALT at Our Kaka‘ako.
Find ample parking in SALT’s multi-level parking structure at 333 Keawe Street. With or without validation, parking is FREE for the first hour. With validation from SALT at Our Kaka‘ako shops or restaurants, the second hour is $1, the third hour is $3, and the fourth hour is $3.00 per half hour or fraction thereof. The standard non-validated parking rate is $3 every 30 minutes or fraction thereof.
