SALT at Our Kaka’ako’s “Lei of Art” in Celebration of May Day

May 1, 2021 @ 10:00 am

May Day is Lei Day in Hawai‘i! We’re marking this special island celebration with a “Lei of Art” strung together throughout SALT at Our Kaka’ako, starting at 10 a.m. Our free festivities include lei making demonstrations in The Barn, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., where you and your ‘ohana can learn about this beautiful, enduring symbol that conveys the Aloha Spirit!
Enjoy live music, hula, street dance groups, art and more throughout the day around SALT and on Auahi Street, which will be closed to vehicle traffic. We invite socially-distanced gatherings on the street. Bring your own chairs or mats and enjoy the celebration on the street!
Fun activities planned include:
10 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Singer Denny Ono
