SALT at Our Kaka‘ako invites the community to discover its collection of outdoor art at the epicenter of urban Honolulu and participate in its exciting new social media scavenger hunt.
SALT presents Art on the Block, a fun and educational scavenger hunt and contest, offering a chance to win a $100 gift card of the winner’s choice from among the participating SALT
merchants. There will be two winners announced monthly. Please follow @SaltOurKakaako on social media for complete details, updates and scavenger hunt questions.
Community members of all ages are invited to visit SALT’s open-air center and join in the socially distant scavenger hunt. The spring promotion is scheduled to run April through June.
Throughout the promotion, Art on the Block will continue to direct shoppers and visitors to SALT at Our Kakaʻako to experience the center’s array of street art, find answers to intriguing
questions and interact with the art murals. Questions and specific directions will be posted on SALT’s social media. For example, participants may be asked to find the answer to a
specific question about one of the center’s beautiful murals, record themselves striking a yoga pose in front of a specific painting or take a selfie photo in front of a particular piece of
artwork. Participants can then share their “answer” by posting and tagging @SaltOurKakaako.
Community members can get a head start on the contest by visiting SALT’s website to learn about more than a dozen unique murals in and around the center, including the stunning
“Naupaka” murals which grace both sides of the center’s parking structure.
In addition to the contest, SALT welcomes community members and dance groups to visit SALT to record their dance videos fronting a mural of their choice and post them on social
media, using @saltourkakaako and #SALTArtOntheBlock, for their chance to be featured on the SALT social media platforms.
